Same issues here, but the fundamental problem seems to be mscompress failing to install. My error report had less detail, but is consistent with this report:

Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/mscompress_0.3-2_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:

Changed in foo2zjs:
status: Unconfirmed → Confirmed

I have also encountered this problem. The error that appeared in an Update Manager dialog is:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mscompress_0.3-2_amd64.deb:
trying to overwrite `/usr/bin/msexpand', which is also in package foo2zjs

This message also appears in the "Details" window of Update Manager. Further down in the details, this output appears:

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of foo2zjs:
 foo2zjs depends on mscompress; however:
  Package mscompress is not installed.
dpkg: error processing foo2zjs (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

I had to type that last bit in because while Update Managers Details window allows you to select text, you can't copy it.

Looks like foo2zjs is both providing one or more files that mscompress also provides, and simultaniously depending on mscompress.

Exactly the same problem here. This happened during my latest update of feisty packages.

update-manager reported: 'Error: BrokenCount > 0'
as well as this error:
'E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mscompress_0.3-2_i386.deb: trying to overwrite `/usr/bin/msexpand', which is also in package foo2zjs'

I've also attached a screenshot showing the dpkg error messages.

This sounds like a dependency issue with 'foo2zjs.deb' or a dpkg issue. Anyway, it resolved itself after rerunning the package manager again without complaining about failing to install mscompress.
