Bug Description

In previous Gnome/Ubuntu versions it was possible to configure shortcuts for switching between desktops (Switch to desktop 1, 2, ...). If I recall correctly, this worked both in Gnome and in Unity.

Now the option is still there, but it seems completely ignored in Gnome Shell. I can't check this in Unity, as it fails to start in 12.04.

You can set these keyboard shortcuts manually by installing dconf-tools. Run dconf-editor and look in org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings.
