Bug Description

The multi-touch touchnad does not work on an Asus UX31.
This means, for example, that you can't click on a window with the click button and move it with the sensitive area of the touchpad.

(This particular touchpad's sensitive area extends onto the buttons. The touchpad works fine with Windows, so it's very likely a driver issue.)

Guillaume Michaud, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

It is still an issue today.
Multi-touch works (two-finger scrolling, two-finger tapping...) but NOT multi-touch + clicking on the clicking area of the touchpad.
It is therefore impossible to clic on a window using the clicking area and dragging the window with a finger on the sensitive area.
