Bug Description

I just downloaded the beta 2 version of Ubuntu 12.04 and tried to install it on a brand new laptop Samsung (Core i5, 4GB, Intel Video ) using a bootable USB. The whole process seems to go fine but in the final step when you enter the user, password, computer name, etc, it stays there forever with the rolling mouse. From time to time the system is not responding and then fine again; the hard drive is spinning all the time.

Regards

Turbo.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/970508/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Hi,

Ok, again, this time using the daily build (31/3/2012), I'm using the amd64 ISO file and the problem is still there. There is no change if you use the direct install or loading Ubuntu first then install from desktop. Also I took a quick read of:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage

And as the fail happens at the end of installation process, I guess "ubiquity" MAYBE is the cause.

Regards.
