openssh-client inactive ssh connection hangs after short time

when i establish ssh connection via terminal (gnome-terminal , guake-terminal, vinegar ecc) it works until it is active. after short time inactive the terminal-session hangs and does not react anymore. First i thought it depends on gnome-terminal but it happens with all different terminals i tested.

tty sessions don't seem to be affected

I have the same problem since upgrading to precise in gnome-terminal. tty sessions not affected. Same issue regardless of what server I'm connecting to.

actually, I only get the bug on wifi connection (using kernel module wl). When using mobile broadband (3G) connection, the session stays open as expected.

I usually use ssh for tunneling a TS connection. After update my conection frozen after a while, usually after a fullscreen update on remote PC, console is frozen too. Sometimes, conection defrozen after a minute, but most times frozen forever and I need to kill SSH process and reconect again.

I'm noticing the same thing when I SSH into my 12.10 VM's on Amazon. I'm using OpenSSH on OSX 10.8.2
I've used both the default terminal.app and iterm.app. Same behavior.

I have the same problem, but it's appear in different networks, with some servers all work fine, with another session is hangs. I think it's may be this issue http://www.snailbook.com/faq/mtu-mismatch.auto.html
