Ah, this probably shouldn't be accredited to 12.04. I've just noticed the actual error line above, and this behavior was occuring in my system prior to upgrade. My apologies.

Is this still happening? And if so, why does user promet have a home dir set to (literally) /home/username/ ?

I've had the same problem for quite some time, and today i got enough :-)
So there's an issue with permission denied to /home/username/.sabnzbd/? My permissions was 775, i changed that to 777, aswell for /logs and the files inside logs had different permissions, the new ones had 600, i changed it to 666, now no problems. My guess is a change of permissions on created files in a later version, which causes the problem.
