Bug Description

I had to use the nomodset kernel option to get even the live cd of 12.04 Beta2 to run (64x with nvidia gt240.)
The installation was done with an automated re-partition for dual boot with win7.
After install on re-boot there was no grub2 menu to select desired os - the pc just booted to win7 as previously.
I got advice on irc.freenode.net/#ubuntu+1 and used the live cd to do an automated grub recovery selecting the automated repair. This fixed the problem and at next boot the grub menu was available.
(This situation would probably "throw" a real newbie quite badly.)
