I also have a similar problem.
I'm using Ubuntu 6.10, with 2.6.17-11-generic kernel.
I'm using Wine included in those repositories which is Wine 0.9.22.
Video card is VIA K8M800, S3 UnichromePro IGP.
Driver used is "via" compiled "for X.Org 7.1.1, module version = 0.2.1"
I haven't tried a newer X.Org nor Openchrome drivers yet.

I successfully installed OrCAD (electronic circuit design) and also Starcraft (game), but when trying to run them a message appears saying "Assertion failed at address 0xffffe410. Do you wish to debug it?"

Wine works okay for small applications like extractable executables, or small utilities.

Here is the output when I try to run Starcraft from the CD. The same thing happens when I run it from the ~/.wine/drive_c/Program FIles/ directory.
