Bug Description

Binary package hint: kopete

Last sunday I received a file (Microsoft .doc file from a friend) and kopete saved it to my home directory...the transfer finished well, but when I was going to open that file, I saw that it was 0 bytes.....I was using my MSN account...

I have an Edgy Kubuntu with KDE 3.5.6, and I experienced this error many times in older versions of KDE, but I thought that this problem had disappeared in KDE 3.5.6....other downloads in Kopete from other users worked fine....(always MSN protocol)

Not sure if this bug exists...I have been looking for this bug in launchpad, but I have found only similar bugs, not the same one...

We run Kubuntu at home, and can send from one system to another using Yahoo! accounts in Kopete, but not to the "rest of the world".

Since sending emails with attachments and other ways of exchanging files provide enough of a workaround, I didn't look into it yet.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 alpha/beta?

@Daniel: Thanks for looking into this bug. I am not quite sure at what release I am as far as Kubuntu concerned.
~$ kopete -v
Qt: 3.3.8b
KDE: 3.5.10
Kopete: 0.12.7

Kopete says it's at 0.12.7

Once I see a friend online that uses MSN I will check if the bug is reproducible.
