Black terminal

Binary package hint: xfce4-terminal

When I start xfce4-terminal, all works. When I open new tab, all works too. But when i close this second or another tab, other tab isnt display anythink. Its only one black screen. I think, terminal works more time, but dont display output.

I see this as well. There are other visual glitches lately in the terminal, but as it has not changed in quite some time X or other packages may be causing it.
I have an ATI X600 using the radeon driver, what is yours?

It happened to me as well with the nvidia driver. I can't reproduce any more since ~2 days though.

I wonder if gnome-terminal users see this. I suspect either X or libvte.

Ive Sapphire X550 with vesa driver.

I get this as well. When I open up xfce4-terminal, it works just fine, but if I open a new tab in the terminal . . . That tab remains blank (all black) unless I switch back to the original tab, and then switch one more time back to the new tab.

As soon as I switch back to the new tab, the terminal input area has "refreshed," and I'm presented with the standard terminal command prompt.

P.S. I have an nvidia on-board graphics card on an AMD64 computer, running Xubuntu Feisty Fawn (03/28/2007).

Checking in XFCE mailing list, they found that this problem is derived from libvte9:

Do you still get the bug with the updated vte?

Not at all... the black screen is gone, but the patch applied to the package makes a 'glitch' while closing tabs or even worse: when I do a right-click in the terminal, before the menu appearance, there is a ugly glitch with mixed colours. Quite disturbing.
