"-x" option gone, still used in gsettings-desktop-schemas

It seems as if the "-x" command line option, used for specifying which command to execute upon startup of gnome-terminal has been removed as version 3.4.0.1.
However, gsettings-desktop-schemas uses this option by default in "org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal.exec-arg".

The question which needs to be answered is whether gsettings-desktop-schemas is wrong (I doubt that) or if someone has removed the "-x" option from gnome-terminal without communicating this, for whatever reason.
