Bug Description

Onboard appears blank (all white) after waking up from standby mode or locking the screen, I'm not sure it is actually Onboard but it has the same size and position that it takes in the logon screen. The lock screen appears full first then the white space takes place automatically at the bottom after aproximatively a half second delay, I did not execute it like I usually do in the logon screen so make sure you open it at least once (in logon screen press accessibility* then virtual keyboard* at the top right of the screen) then lock your screen or standby/wakeup after loging in to maybe make the bug happen, if not prease try to identify it and report it in its correct form.
Check below the attachement image (bugimage.png) of how the bug looks like, notice that the white space at the bottom is supposed to be the virtual keyboard.

Could you please check whether the newer version in the Snapshots PPA has the same problem?

Thanks in advance

Chady, that blank space is clearly Onboard and it's probably crashing on startup. Please be so kind and run these commands in a terminal and post the output:
$ locale
$ onboard

We had a couple of issues with translations lately, It might be that French on Oneiric is affected too. Version 0.97.1 in the snapshot PPA Francesco mentioned above should be a bit more robust. If you have the chance, please try it and let us know how it goes.

Upgrading to the version in the snapshots repo fixed it for me :)

i got the same problem with Ubuntu 11.10 (onboard 0.96.1).
 Here is the output after running the commands:
1) locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
2) onboard
onboard screen came out.

Onboard still appears blank (all white) when unlocking the screen just as Chady's attachment (bugimage.png).
So i think it may be caused by other pros rather than crashing on startup.
Any ideas about this??

@Autumn

Could you please test whether the problem also occurs with the newer version of Onboard in our stable PPA?
https://launchpad.net/~onboard/+archive/stable

However, take care using Onboard 0.97.1 on oneiric: With window decoration enabled, the keyboard window is lost for good when it's minimized by title bar button. GTK3 doesn't report iconifying there.
