A non-ASCII real user name in installer is ignored after setup

Bug Description

Binary package hint: user-setup

When installing (live cd) the real user name is asked. I entered my real name in Greek characters and the installation proceeded normally.
After booting the installed system, going to the users and groups application, the real name entry was blank. Setting it up again (in Greek characters) worked and it remained there as intended.
Haven't tried other languages.

Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make ubuntu better.

Which release do you report this against? Could you please test this against hardy?

Thanks

If I remember correctly it happened to both 7.04 and 7.10.

The same problem still exists in Hardy (daily build 20080330) using a name with Greek characters. I should add that the last step of the installation, that shows a summary, displays the name correctly.
