Bug Description

sometimes when i am watching a video with vlc or something uses the video driver (most programs do in a way..) my ubuntu oneiric, running on a x40, the screen turns black and all display output is gone until i reboot. no tty. nothing. (i know of some blogs telling about the driver situation - no support because opengl does not work (?) - but hey - 2 friends have notebooks with the same graphics chipset. i think this driver still is relevant.)

some info - as described - only vlc running and suddenly all black again:

In my case, it always happens when I go to sleep, then wake my laptop and try to reactivate my second monitor. I just lose everything, and can't go in another TTY.
