After the last round of updates in 12.04, March 25th - 27th, I can no longer access the 3D session.

Issuing the command compiz --replace results in the following:

compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in GLib::Source:: prepare_vfunc()

Can you post your .xsession-errors file and the /var/log/Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old files? These files are more crucial in finding out what really happened.

Second, did you try running this:

DISPLAY=:0 unity --reset

in a virtual terminal when you're logged in but Unity doesn't work?

Update: I'm still unable to load Unity 3D. Is this bug a duplicate of another?
