Bug Description

Sometimes, the act of starting firefox terminates my session. I've noticed that it happens shortly after I've logged in. I have top running in a konsole window, virtuoso-t is taking 200% or so of my CPU, and I'm reading e-mail using kontact. The act of starting firefox terminates my session. When I log in again, virtuoso-t takes a modest percentage of CPU and I can start kontact and firefox without problem.

I'm running KDE 4.8.1 from the PPA. Firefox is version 11.0 ("Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0").

I don't have a core dump that I know of.

Maybe this is relevant. I'm running Kubuntu on a Toshiba Portege R705-P25 laptop with a second monitor attached to the VGA output. The VGA output is the primary output.

Whenever firefox has ended my session, the login panel was displayed only on the laptop's LCD. On the following login, the login panel is displayed on both the laptop's LCD and the external monitor.
