Compiz doesn't wake up

Bug Description

When the screen goes to sleep and then I move a mouse or hit a key, compiz takes 100% cpu and takes several *minutes* before drawing the screen. The mouse pointer appears and moves around properly but the rest of the screen remains black. The load is not high on the machine or anything. Compiz simply takes 100% for several minutes in order to wake the machine up and then things settle back down.

It literally makes the machine unusable for minutes at a time.

This appears to be fixed in the unity update that went out yesterday.
