7.04 beta Sparc crash during boot

Bug Description

I tried booting
MD5 (ubuntu-7.04-beta-server-sparc.iso) = c6fd7d0e4dff54d4fecaac7052a378bf
but it exits with an illegal instruction back to the boot prompt when trying to load/uncomress(?) the initrd.
This is an Ultra60 with 2x340MHz UltraSparcII and 1.5GB of RAM.
