Fridays update wrecked Unity 3d now flickers and will not load sometimes

Bug Description

After Fridays update in 12.04, Unity (not 2d) flickers whenever the mouse is over it or the panel. When FBReader is full screen, the Unity launcher still remains visible and flickering. The desktop will not load all the time, work fine on Unity 2D and Gnome desktops

The "not loading" issue is bug 963465 and/or bug 963633.

reset --unity has worked for me on Acer Aspire One ZG5, with 1 gig ram and hard disc.
