Apparent Regression in Main Library screen, Series Column

Clicking in Series column in Main Library screen (0.8.43 and prior) used to give a blank field, now (0.8.44) it auto-fills with the first entry that would have been in the old drop-down list, so you have to physically 'clear' this entry first before adding (keyingor pasting-in) the correct entry, thus increasing both the number of keystrokes and the time needed to update an entry.

I am seeing this behavior in the Tags field also. It fills in the alphabetically first tag value if you cick on the field when it is empty.

Fixed in branch lp:calibre. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every Friday.
