Currently we have created startup files with latest boot binaries and is getting used by development team to check if any regression.

This is also getting used by linaro team. Do keep posted if you find any regression.
We will continue to use them and inform and work on regressions, if any.

Need to get help from Customers to verify these new boot binaries. In progress.

Just posting previous observations below.
PS: detailed testing is in progress.

1.No regression found so far with new set of boot binaries..
2.Ubuntu response time is good in new boot binaries:
-While testing graphics issue with old boot binaries I found too high boot time and also slow response.
-Whereas with new boot binaries boot-up is faster and also response is better.
3.ICS response is better:
-While working on ICS single image created with old boot binaries, we found that ICS use to hang in between.
-This is not observed while working with new binaries.
4.Reset issue (#872833) will need new prcmu :
  - For reset to work - #965926 issue should be solved.
5. Source of new external memory init shows support for Hynix memory.
6. It doesnt resolve HDMI issue. but debugging is ongoing still.

Will do internal testing just after 2012.04 release.
Test and verification will be done on various sets of boot binaries to conclude on best possible snowball boot binaries.

Yes, we do have 3 different sets of boot binaries now. which are getting tested with latest kernel. Will update with all technical details once after finishing the same. Also these boot binaries will be circulated across all much in advance.

The current set of boot binaries is according to the present kernel that we have in coming release.

Currently we can see such change is needed for some of the platform issue and also improvement.

For example:
In one of the customer board we can see that issue of 800Mhz is solved. (it shows 1GHz).
(but on boards with h/w limitation, no change).

Its also important considering the power management. We have lot many changes in power management in the kernel. prcmu f/w should be equivalent to that. Its needed considering coming major changes that’s on going to have in power management modes.
Its also required considering needs to reboot phone gracefully.

Previously we were using 8500 flash layout and it was according to both AP and modem chipset availability.
Now using 9500 flash profile which is better set of boot binaries for our platform.

In addition to that we expect lot many other launchpad issues to show some improvement. For this analysis ongoing.

But its important that we go ahead and use latest boot binaries.

I also can see improvement in ICS behavior.

A detailed test ongoing. So far no regression.
