Bug Description
I'm using ubuntu 11.10.
First off all, i have 2 canon pixma 258 which comes under 250 series...
After setting up printer driver for my canon pixma mp258, i removed the usb from my computer and changed another printer which was the same type. After that, i plugin the usb of the printer and opened simple scan to scan some to scan some photos.
When i clicked the scan button, it sayed error scanning. (i think i have to reinstall the same driver for the printer again). The issue was, after simple scan sayed error, it automaticly disables my wifi. When i remove and put in the wifi it does not work. I also checked the network settings and it did not work neither. I am using a TP-Link TL-WN821NC 300Mbs wireless and usb adapter. The only way that i found to get it working is to restart my ubuntu.
My question are :
1) why does simple scanned does it to my wifi ?
2) Why the same type of the printer driver needs to be reinstalled to get it to work ?

Scanner Drivers sadly are troublesome with Linux and of bad quality sometimes, down to the point where they might corrupt the whole usb stack and affect other usb devices.
Could you try to use xsane or gscan2pdf instead of simple-scan to see if the problem persists? If it does, the problem most definitely is not within simple-scan, but "deeper down".
