Dash opens not always when I press Super-key

Often when I press Super key, dash doesn't open. So, I need press it's icon in Launcher. In 12.04 beta I have the same problem.

Yes, it's reproducible. But I see it in random times. I don't know why. Just I pressed Super key three times: first two times I saw Dash, on third it didn't show.

Problem not only in launching Dash, in closing too. I pressed Super key and it started, I pressed Super key in second time and Dash didn't close.

Now, I am in 12.04 beta.

Nicholas, the dash only responds to Super key taps <= 0.25 seconds long. If you have it pressed longer than that then it won't respond.

Also, there was a bug found this week where the above timing could be quite inaccurate on some systems. So even if you tapped Super quickly, some machines would not detect it properly. That is fixed in bug 953089. So I am marking this as a duplicate of that one.

Thinking about how many times users are intended to use this keyboard shortcut, I find it very strange that such a "hidden" delay has been introduced. Why? To me, it's just plain annoying. And the obvious question next is of course, why can't I increase this? For us that use the keyboard and the Super key much, it happens quite often that the key press lasts longer than 0.25 s.

Just a note to my comment: I'm aware that this delay cannot exceed the "number selection delay".
