Bug Description

Turning rulers on and off (ctrl+r) causes the canvas to move. This feels jarring.
All other items under View > Show/Hide can be turned on and off without this happening.

Not quite true: toggling the Toolbox (on the left), the Commands bar and the Tool Controls bar (at the top) on/off has the same effect -> the canvas is moved horizontally or vertically (depending on which edge of the canvas area changed).
