Bug Description

Binary package hint: fglrx-driver

I have nx9420 laptop with 1600x1050 resolution and external monitor with 1280x1024 resolution. When I install propietary ATI driver using Restricted Drivers applet, ATI sets both displays to clone mode.

Now, the laptop screen resolution is forced to 1280x1024 instead of native 1600x1050.

Solutions:

1) don't enable the second display/clone mode automatically

2) Set-up monitors in non-clone mode (both have own desktop)

I recommend the latter.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Is this still an issue?
