Bug Description

I'm running Kubuntu Oneiric 11.10 with KDE 4.8.1. If I log out and log in again, after a minute or so the screen goes blank and then another login prompt appears. The second login works correctly. This does not happen on the initial login.

When this most recently happened, I went into a virtual terminal and captured the last interesting part of syslog. Here it is:

You can reset the credentials by removing the file "/home/pwa/.cache/apport/launchpad.credentials"

Removing the credentials file didn't help.

Paul Abrahams, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>
