Bug Description

I did a fresh install of Precise yesterday on this machine. It's an Alienware M15x with an nVidia GT240M card and it's running Nouveau.

Yesterday, one of the balloons from a launcher icon (the one that appears when you right click an icon, giving you app name, pin to launcher, etc) stuck open and basically made that area of the screen unusable because it would never go away, and anything moved into that area would appear under the balloon.

Just now, this morning, I clicked on the google chrome icon and was presented with two preview views. I had two chrome browsers open at the time. I clicked the preview I wanted to go to, and as it was enlarging, it created a giant white rectangle that covered almost the entire desktop, on top of all applications. I was unable to clear this out too. I tried using Log Out, which did nothing, and I tried Switch User, which also did nothing. Eventually I had to SIGHUP Xorg to reset everything and get rid of it, which did work.

This has happened twice in two days and when it happens, there's an excellent chance that the system is nearly unusable, and I could lose any open work because I can't see the open apps to successfully close them before restarting X. Also, I tried switching workspaces and that too did not fix the issue.

Here's a screenshot I managed to get with Shutter showing the giant white rectangle that is covering pretty much everything. Note also that in the Screenshot, the launcher is not visible, but on my display, it WAS visible and the left edge of that rectangle was docked to the right edge of the launcher panel.
