Right now glsof is in alpha stadium. I currently does not build on Ubuntu (neither from tarball nor from svn). As I had contact to its developer before I filed a bug.

Tried to build glsof and it did not build on Ubuntu Feisty either. I would wait until upstream becomes more stable and at least beta.

Hi there,

indeed this is a bit confusing. There is a beta release but it's kept in svn. So the way to build is:

svn co https://glsof.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/glsof
cd glsof
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
make install

This is of course not a state fitting to the needs for packaging, I will drop the developer a line to clean up and build a beta tarball with a release number.

The current available tarball is at 0.10.0-pre-alpha4 and may or may not build in Gutsy.

I could not find any guide and the following procedure ended up in failure:

# inside the extraced tarball's directory
sudo apt-get install libgnomeui-0 libgnomeui-dev
./configure # succeeds
make # fails...

Maybe someone can manage to build this or next release and it will be ready for packaging?

Looks like I mistakenly changed the status of this bug by mistake; someone will need to change it back.
