Bug Description

Loading up Ubuntu One Music (current version) on IOS 5 works fine until you press the 'Songs' icon on the bottom of the screen, once the 'Songs button is pressed the Ubuntu One Music app will close. Loading the app up again works until the 'Songs' icon is pressed where the app will immediately close every time.

I have un-installed the app and re-installed but the same problem persists.

Hi, Kristian.

Do you have a sense of the number of songs you have in the system? If the app never made it through parsing the songs, it might not show in settings, but if it successfully processed all that information from the server, it'll be listed there. Alternately, you could have a track with a title that our app is having trouble dealing with. Do you encounter any problems using the Web interface for music? Depending on the number of albums you have, if there's a single problematic song, you could narrow it down to the album by trying to visit each album from the Albums view. This doesn't give you a whole lot to go on, but hopefully we can narrow down what's causing the app to crash.

Incidentally, if you have a computer running iTunes, you should be able to get the crash log and add it to this bug.

Thanks,

Zac

Hi, the app crashes as soon as the songs icon is pressed, it doesn't even get to the point of loading the songs.

The web app works fine without any problems.

I don't have a computer running iTunes, is the any way of getting the crash logs through Ubuntu?

I have the same bug. I have about 5,000 songs. The app was working fine last week, then I inadvertently signed-out and when I logged back in I had this bug.

I am having this issue as well. I am attaching an image of the screen I see immediately after I tap 'Songs' right before it crashes. It will only display this screen the first time after it has been re-installed. On all subsequent launches, it will just crash immediately.

If anyone else has crash reports that may have additional information and you don't have iTunes, here is the method I used to obtain mine:

Open Settings
Tap General
Tap About
Tap Diagnostics & Usage
Tap Diagnostic & Usage Data
Find and open U1 Music_xxxxx
Copy the text and paste it in an email to yourself, or use some other method to get the text off the phone.

I only have about 20-30 songs. I opened up each individual album, but couldn't find any problematic songs.

Also, I use U1 Music on my Android tablet, and it works perfectly.

Sorry for the multiple comments, I just keep thinking of more info that may be relevant. If there is a way to edit comments, please let me know.

The more I'm using this app the more bugs I'm finding. The application crashing isn't limited to just the songs.

Loading a playlist can also crash the application
Pausing a track during play and then trying to start the song again will crash the app
Playing a song and then doing something else on my iPhone to then come back to U1 music will crash the app.

Tried top get a crash report but there doesn't seem to be any options for that in the about section of the app.

Go into the Settings app on your phone (where you change wifi settings, brightness, etc.), not the Settings icon in the U1 Music app. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

Here's my latest crash report. This app is very buggy. Many things are now causing this to crash randomly not just pressing the songs icon

+1 on this being urgent. For a lot of people here at Millbank, the app has become almost unusable because they cannot browse through songs, which for a music player app, is kind of critical.

Incidentally this worked okay on the previous version.
