Bug Description

Before it took a person running a program at the command line to do this, but now all you have to do is open up the config UI and hit "OK", and the computer registration is lost. I can see innocent users doing this just curious what the panel is.

It would be nice to detect if the computer is registered and warn before re-registering, or something. Ideally, I would like it to work as follows:

- After registering, the panel displays "Registered under account: <xyz>"
- If registered already you have "Break the registration" in some way before you can attempt to re-register. Maybe a button that says "unregister this computer" or something like that, which should actually pull up a dialog that asks to confirm.
- Only then can you click "OK" again to send off a new registration attempt.

But that is just a suggestion. The actual problem or issue is contained in the first paragraph above.

I chatted with Free and Thomas about this. As the dialog requires escalated privileges and now indicates on the button that it will attempt registration we think that this can be deferred for now. There is a general need to be aware of registration status and I think this would form part of that work. For the record I think your ideas here are good.

We're going to wontfix this one because it's a lot of work for us to know the state of actual registration. We're going to table this for another iteration post 12.04 if necessary.
