Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When loading Rhythmbox 0.9.8 in Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty Fawn" Beta (on the "Desktop" CD) on a display that is set to 1024x768, the window's width is wider than can fit on the screen. Clicking the maximize button on the window or attempting to resize the window horizontally by using either border (left, right, bottom left, and bottom right) to try to adjust the width fails to change the window's width.

What window manager do you use?

I use whatever window manager is the default in GNOME when booting the "Desktop" CD for Ubuntu 7.04 Beta.

Same here, using Gnome and Metacity and couldn't resize the window horizontally. Since a part of the window is not visible (too wide for the screen actually), this shouldbe fix as soon as possible.

marking unconfirmed, I don't confirm that on my feisty desktop. No need of the border to resize a window, you can use alt-left_click-dnd to move it or right click on the titlebar

I just booted the Ubuntu 7.04 Daily DVD 20070407 and no longer see this issue on it. Horizontal resizing works for me now.

The problem seems to be there. I can't resize horizontally the window to make it smaller. I can make it bigger, but no shorter.

Interesting info: this issue only happens the first time I run Rhythmbox.

I have this problem in Dapper; here's a piece of info I haven't seen in this thread:

It seems to be the case that the resizeability depends on the length of the title of what is being played.

On this particulary (highly recommended, hehe) web radio stream, the title is very long:

(#2) SomaFM: Drone Zone (128k mp3): Served best chilled, safe with most medications. Atmospheric textures with minimal beats.

http://somafm.com/dronezone.pls

If I run that url, Rhythmbox refuses to shrink (looks like the screenshot above). If I switch to something with a short title, resizing is ok.
