blank white windows on top of everything else

There's some kind of bug in Unity where empty white windows appear over my desktop, and they apparently can't be got rid of other than by restarting unity. They have drop shadows. Clicks pass right through them. I don't know how to induce this but it has happened several times.

I have had the same issue occur periodically but not most recently

I just experienced this with oneiric a minute ago. Had to log out and in again.

I'm fairly sure this is a duplicate though.
