Bug Description

I have a Sony Vaio S (VPC137GG). Ubuntu suspends from the menu but does not suspend when the laptop lid is closed. The Power Settings are correct (ie. set to suspend on lid close).

This same issue occurred for me during the 11.10 beta phases and was fixed before the 11.10 launch. Hopefully the same issue has recurred and can be addressed.

Not sure if this is a duplicate of bug #949296. This past weekend I upgrade from 11.10 where this worked to 12.04. I am using the proprietary ATI/AMD drivers.
