Bug Description
64-bit ubuntu 12.04 beta
I installed Chrome from http://
I ran the search tool on the gnome launcher (top left button with ubuntu logo) - searched for Chrome - then dragged chrome to the launcher, so it was a launch button, i made sure it was locked to the taskbar or launcher or whatever you call it.
But when i run Chrome, no windows are marked as active, and if i minimize a chrome window it is gone for good never to be seen again but in the background somewhere.
The chrome browser opens fine. IT just isn't available as a window to switch to.
Note - most open windows are markded with a little arrow on the left of it in the launcher, that does not happen with chrome, There is also no secondary icon that is activated. If I click chrome a second time, it just opens a new window, any chrome windows that i minimize cannot, i repeat here, be restored to view again.
What I expect to happen: When the window is open for Chrome, there should be an icon on the left launcher telling me it is open. When I minimize a window, i should be able to somehow restore or maximize it.
What happened instead: If I minimize a Chrome window, it is gone for good. Even if i press Alt+Tab while chrome is open, it is not in the list of open windows to switch to, even if it is on the screen in front of me.

Description: Ubuntu precise (development branch)
Release: 12.04
affects: | ubuntu → compiz (Ubuntu) |
This appears to be "fixed" after a reboot.
I applied the latest updates (which i do several times per day) to the beta operating system. I then went to log out, and as happens from time to time at log out the computer freezes solid (not even ctrl+alt+f1 will unfreeze it), so i powered off, powered back on, and when i did this started working the right way.
This problem is probably unrelated to chrome.
