Bug Description

Binary package hint: feisty-session-splashes

After when nearly half of the bar is fillled, ubuntu feisty halts until <Ctrl><Alt><Delete> is pushed.
Again when the ubuntu background appears, the CD stops reading and the same command is needed,
whereas a grayish empy space pops in the upper left corner , final halt.
Noapic on 0603bios ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe /Wirelss edition with onboard sound AC97 activated, 1GB RAM 800Mhz, 64bit athlon x2 and SATA harddrive.
USB mouse / keyboard, Saitek key, Mx518 Logitech.
First try with X-fi soundcard with onboard sound deactivated gave same results. Safemode was not tested.
No errors in previous Ubuntu 6.06.
