Bug Description

More a wish than a bug: in OpenERP v6.1, it is possible to create customized views for a specific user. It would be nice if it were possible to create customized views for a group of users, for instance ask that all users from the "Accounting" group access the custom view instead of the base one.

Thanks,
Simon E.B. THIERRY,

Not sure what you mean.

This should be done in the base view via the @group attribute.

Sorry: customized views can be found in Settings -> Customization -> Low level objects -> Customized views.

Confirming the previous recommendation then: you should edit the base view and use the @groups attribute to define the per-group visibility.

Unless I'm mistaken, doing as you recommend will make the base view visible only to the groups I define, but the customized view will remain visible only to the only user for which it's been set: at the creation of a customized view, one designates the user it's made for.

So my question remains: how can I define a customized view for a group of users ?

No, you use @groups on subsets of the view so some parts are shown only to some groups. You don't define a view per group.

You don't, you define per-group customizations to the base view.

affects: openerp-web → openobject-server

Right, this would work, of course, but... isn't avoiding a modification of the base view the very goal of the customized views ?
