Amarok cuts first few seconds of the tracks

Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

Amarok, when playing m4a audio files, cuts the first few seconds (or milliseconds) of the tracks, with the crossfader turned off. If I turn the crossfader on "manual track change only", it no longer cuts the beginning of the songs.

edit: Using feisty with amarok 1.4.5-0ubuntu6.
edit2: I forgot to mention it happens in between songs. If you change tracks manually it doesn't happen, if you let the song play until the end, the first few seconds of the next song in the playlist will be skipped.

Good evening,

I have been listening to a lot of songs through Amarok today without any problems like this occuring. I am wondering if you are still having problems with amarok crashing?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Marking this as invalid due to requestor say this is no longer a problem:

Not recently - my main workstation runs Amarok most of the day and I don't
think it's crashed on me in the past 60+ days (playing for 4-6 hours per
work day).

Well, I didn't say it crashed, it just skips the beginning of the tracks (1 or 2 seconds) when the crossfader is turned off. And yes, it still happens.
Still using feisty (amd64) and amarok 1.4.7-0ubuntu1~feisty1 (backports).

This bug should not be closed. I was running Fiesty Fawn with the latest Amarok package from the repositories, and encountered the exact same problem. The first few seconds of M4A files were getting cut off, and the workaround described seemed to remedy the problem (although not satisfactorily, since I had to deal with crossfades on manual song changes, which I didn't want).

I have upgraded to Gutsy Gibbon and have yet to duplicate the bug, but I haven't used the new version very long.
