Apps that launch maximised are not recognised by launcher/switcher as being on any workspace

Bug Description

I have just installed 12.04 beta 64-bit and am using the compiz version of Unity.

If you log in and then launch an application from the dash that opens as a maximised window then, although it is visible, it isnt placed on the current workspace. You can see this in the launcher as the icon only has a hollow arrow next to it as though it is on a different workspace. The big problem is that the application isn't available in the alt+tab switcher. The problem seems to remedy itself if you open and close the workspace switcher.

I had this problem with a past version of Unity, but it was fixed with 5.6 RC (not sure though). I did a unity --reset at the same time too, so either of them could've fixed it.

Try running unity --reset and see if it helps.

"unity --reset" did not help. Did you see this bug reported elsewhere when you had this problem?

Same problem here, clean install of 12.04 with updates.

unity reset didn't help here either, and I even clean installed again. Same issue.
