Bug Description
Binary package hint: digikam
A recent upgrade (?) seems to have stopped digikam from being able to read my camera. When I plug it in, KDE does its KIO thing, and offers me the choice of "open in konqueror", "open in digikam". When I open in digikam, it can't find any pictures on the camera. In konqueror, it can see the camera's file system. I can download the photos by using gphoto2, i.e. sudo gphoto2 --camera="Canon PowerShot S2 IS (PTP mode)" -P

Same thing here, but I'm using a S3 IS. digiKam 0.9.2-final is unable to find the camera in auto-detect mode or by add camera menu (camera list is empty) and Konqueror shows me the device empty. gphoto2 works ok and gtkam too.
$ sudo gphoto2 --camera="Canon PowerShot S3 IS (PTP mode)" -P 00010001/ DCIM/100CANON' ...
