Bug Description

X dies when the screensaver comes on. If I kill X from another computer via ssh, then computer comes back to life.

When logging into ubuntu, I get screen corruption

The screen corruption issue is a known regression in unity-greeter.

Are you using the default screensaver (that just shows a blank screen and clock), or xscreensaver, or something else?

None of your logs show an error; could you reproduce the fault, attach gdb to the Xorg process, and collect a backtrace? That may indicate where X is stuck. See http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing for guidance.

Sometimes these types of bugs are caused by compiz plugins. Can you reproduce this when using unity-2d?
