The banshee package already conflicts/replaces the banshee-official-plugins package (version < 0.11.4). This means that banshee should automatically replace the old package, which is your problem. How did you install the banshee-official-plugins?

Sorry, I should have been more specific: the information I'm after is:

How did you install the banshee-official-plugins? From source? From an Ubuntu package [and if so, what version]? From a Debian package [and if so, what version]? From a third party package? Etc.

I had banshee-official-plugins 0.11.1-0ubuntu2 installed after the feisty upgrade, which appears to be the version that shipped with edgy. As far as I recall, I didn't install any third-party versions of that package, but it isn't impossible. HTH. Sorry I didn't check the origin before uninstalling it.

Confirmed by Crimsun. In an Edgy->Feisty dist-upgrade, banshee-official-plugins is not automatically removed.

I'm marking this invalid because Banshee 0.12.x is a very outdated version. I don't believe this bug affects Banshee 0.98.x and above, but if it does, please feel free to reopen this bug.
