Bug Description

I'm using the Chromium Web Browser to access my U1 Web Music Player, and I have different issues.

I have attached a compressed archive with three screenshots, each one with the problem I have:
1) [First_attempt_to_access_music_player.png] ==> in this screenshot you can see that every first time I want to access, this message of timeout is displayed. When I try a second time, then the web music player is eventually displayed.

2) [Songs_without_ID3_tags.png] ==> I click on the "Songs" link to list all my songs, but for many of them there is no Title, no Artist, and no Album. This is not possible because I know that almost all my songs have the ID3 tags set.

3) [Select_an_Album.png] ==> I click on the "Album" link to list all my albums, and then I choose one album, but instead of the songs list, this message error is displayed.

Moreover all the Web Music Player interface seems very slow. Instead the other parts of U1 are fast.

In this state the Web Music Player is almost unusable.

Hi Nicola,

We are sorry to hear about your problems. I tried to reproduce 1 and 3, but I couldn't. It is working as a charm here. Can you please tell us if those are still problems for you? And if so, please tell us what version of chromium and operating system are you using.

About 2, this is a know issue that we are trying to solve. You can contact our support team, because they have a workaround that might solve your problem: https://staging.one.ubuntu.com/help/contact/

Thank you for letting us know about your problems.
pura vida.

Hi Leo,

I can confirm you that problem 1 is still present here.
The problem 3 is also still present.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64bit as operating system, and the version 18.0.996.0 of Chromium.

I have a note that perhaps can help:
I have now 228GB of files saved on U1, and the music player has these problems, and is also very slow.
Some time ago I had only 56GB of files saved on U1, and the music player worked well.
Perhaps the big amount of files has a relation with my problems using the music player? I know that the music player has to recognize all the music files (mp3 and ogg, oga) among all my other files, and in my case I have a lot of files.

I have a new installation of Ubuntu 12.04 with Google Chromium, and I have recorded for you a video in real time to show you that for me the Ubuntu One Web Music player is really unusable. In the video you can see in the up right corner the time with the seconds, no trimming, no cutting.
As you can see, I need three attempts to access the tab Music because the "504 Gateway error", and when eventually I'm in, and I choose an artist, I have another error with the message "An error has occured. Our engineers have been notified and we will work to fix this".
note: I have reported this problem in February 2012, and since then nothing is changed.

An addendum to complete the information: this problem on the web side has an impact on the Android app too. In fact also on my phone I can't stream my music, because I think the server is not responding, as you can see in my video.

Just a little note to tell you that nothing is changed so far (a month after my last comment).
I still have the "504 Gateway error" problem, and the "An error has occured. Our engineers have been notified and we will work to fix this" problem.

The new Ubuntu One Web Music Store is just launched, but I still have the error message “Service Temporarily Unavailable” when I click on the Music tab.
It’s because the new “Ubuntu One Music Store” is not completely deployed, or there is a problem?
