Bug Description
I just performed a dist-upgrade from 10.04.4 to 12.04 (Beta 1 candidate/20120224) and all went well but the message when it came to removing obsolete packages said it may take "several hours" to complete that step of the process. Of course it only took several minutes, so I'd think that message should be changed.
If someone actually believes it could take "several hours" to remove obsolete packages they could be tempted to retain the cruft.
I followed this up with a dist-upgrade from Oneiric to Precise and the messaging seemed more appropriate.
