Clicking link in thunderbird opens browser, but focus remains on thunderbird

When I click on a link in thunderbird, chrome is raised (it is already running). I see the chrome window, and everything looks fine except the title bar at the top is still for thunderbird. Mouse input goes to chrome, but if I perform keyboard input first it will still go to thunderbird. This is a problem when I hit ctrl-w to close the new tab, but instead thunderbird is silently closed in the background.

Secondarily, while in the bad state alt+tab does not work. The switcher graphic shows, and the dock comes out to wiggle the application being switched to, but the application isn't raised. I don't know if the two issues are related, but I suspect they are.

Also, can you test against the latest compiz?

I installed ppa:unity-team/staging, and now I can't reproduce this any more. I'm not sure whether to mark it as fix released or fix committed, so I'll let you figure it out :).

Personally this is one of those sticky bugs one minute they appear to be fixed the next they are not. Its not fixed will surface again the next time when you are not watching
