GladeUI-Message: The DevHelp installed on your system is too old, devhelp feature will be disabled.

So I:

john@john-Ubuntu10:~$ sudo apt-get install devhelp
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
devhelp is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

So there appears to be some crossed versions here somewhere. Please advise.

Actually it shouldn't make a big difference for you but I will have to check why this happens because it doesn't seem to be Ubuntu specific. Anyway, you should have nearly the full functionality of glade and anjuta.

Thanks for the reassurance. I am not doing anything earth shaking, but messages like that give me to pause. I expect there is some problem upstream with version synchronization.

OK, this has been fixed in glade master but not (yet) in the glade version that Ubuntu ships:

Upstream fix:

Changed in glade (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
milestone: none → ubuntu-12.04
status: New → Fix Committed

Thanks very much. Will try to implement, but can probably wait for 12.04 which is becoming imminent.
