Bug Description

While I applaud the efforts of following with the dash's design to chameleon itself with the user's wallpaper choice, the color is way too easily overdone. I have a simple ocean wallpaper and the attached png is the eye-gouging result that clashes horribly with my desktop.

Please consider toning the amount of color to be added down considerably.

Thank you!

I just noticed that it decided to tone it down by itself. Looking at the attached picture (which has a tint of blue).

I'm using nouveau: is this a video driver issue? Or is it compiz? Or is it still indeed still notify-osd?

Yeah I notice this too :)

Changed in notify-osd (Ubuntu):

Jason, are you running nouveau as well? I do know that nouveau has some issues in the transparencies department... would be nice to eliminate it.

Also, launchpad seems to have messed up on attaching the fixed picture. Must have thrown it off with a question mark in the title. Trying again...

Nah I'm pretty certain this is a legit issue. Mirco is probably mis-parsing the gdk color somehow. It's probably a trivial fix. Either way I am on the nvidia blob :)
