Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdebase
When using the "switch user" functionality it doesn't come back to the correct virtual terminal.
I don't know if this has anything to do with what virtual terminal the second user gets, but on my system I was VT7 and the second login (other user) got VT9. Switching between users worked great, but when I logged out the second user (VT9) I think I got dropped to VT8, not VT7 where my original desktop was.
Am I making any sense?
The end result was however that I got dropped into a black screen that didn't do anything for me. If I hadn't known about ctrl-alt-F7 I would have been out of luck.
A minor issue, I know, but I thought I'd mention it.

I was dropped back to VT7 (active KDE3 session) when I quit from VT9 (KDE4 session). (I don't know if it is Splash or something else that occupies VT8.) I am on Kubuntu Hardy.
Do you have exact steps to reproduce the issue? Did you have an active session or KDM open on VT7? Had you perhaps manually switched to VT8 and from there to VT9 earlier, and then were returned to the "last used" VT? Does this still occur for you?
