Starts, runs, no app indicator is visible, but it is actually there

Bug Description
It starts up fine but no app indicator icon shows up. You can however notice a little movement in the indicator area, clicking to the right & using arrow keys will reveal the menu.
Don't know of any other app that uses python-appindicator so can't say if that's what's broken
