Dragon player reliably crashes when selecting a scene on a dvd

Bug Description

If I go to a scene selection menu on a dvd and try and go to a scene from there (or go to next scene while it's playing) dragon player crashes with a segv; the crash collection says the backtrace 'is not useful' even though I went throguh it's install debug packages dialog.

It seems fully repeatable on multiple DVDs.

When I load a DVD into dragon I get a 'segmentation fault'. Even if I loaded debug symbols this is the only message. The crash is is repeatable.

Trying to run dragon from console I get:
