Bug Description

With firefox-globalmenu 10.0.2+build-0ubuntu0.11.10.1 (oneiric-updates) installed the bookmarks in firefox cannot be effectively edited. With the globalmenu package installed the bookmarks cannot be dragged to new positions nor can the "Show All Bookmarks" window be edited manually. At first the movement of bookmarks appears to function but subsequent attempts to move the bookmarks becomes futile. The solution appears to be to remove the firefox-globalmenu (and perhaps thunderbird-globalmenu). Upon this removal it was possible to manually edit the bookmarks.

Bottom line - globalmenu appears to break firefox functionality for bookmarks. My suspicion is that the general slowdown of firefox is complicated by the globalmenu package and I'll try working without it for now.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one.

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

I was not able to reproduce this issue in a clean profile.
